MyDistro
My desktop, packaged as an installable openSUSE.
What it is
MyDistro is a personal build of openSUSE Tumbleweed that carries my whole setup: the KDE desktop the way I like it, my terminal and editor configuration, and the development, reverse-engineering and malware-analysis tools I use every day. It boots in two ways:
- Live — run it straight from a USB stick without touching the disk.
- Installer — put it on a machine permanently.
Why I made it
Setting up a computer properly takes days: finding every package again, recreating the desktop, and rebuilding a malware-analysis lab from scratch. MyDistro captures that setup as a recipe that follows my machine — when I install software or change a setting, the recipe is updated and a fresh image is built — so a new laptop or a rebuilt desktop is one install away from feeling like home.
